Day 1: Hanoi-Mai Chau-Pu Luong

Upon stopping in Pom Coong village in Mai Chau, you can wander around to visit the village and the Thai people in the village before having lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, you will start trekking through the lush forests of Pu Luong Nature Reserve to witness the pristine landscapes of the park. The evening is the ideal time for you to discover deeper about the daily life and culture of White Thai people after finishing dinner at your homestay. It is better if the second day welcomes you on a nice sunny day. If you get up early, you can enjoy the best moment of the day when the sun rises up from behind the mountains and shines down on the whole region by a beautiful orange color. You will be surprised by farmers working in the fields so early and if you feel interested in it, you can even join the farmers in their morning activities to get a real feel for life in rural Vietnam.

After having breakfast in the homestay, let ready for a 5- 6-hour trek. The first road is long and tough with some steep climbs and some stream crossings, but it is worth to challenge your patience and when going through the first stage, the next stretch becomes very easy for you, and in this stage, you will have the best moments to see the glorious views of the valley, rice terraces, rich rainforests, and streams.

Then, spending a while for resting and having a picnic lunch on the way at Eo Ken village. The trek will lead you to Kho Muong which is possibly the most beautiful village in Vietnam. You can stroll around the village and join the villagers as they go about their daily lives, or relax in one of the three eco homestays set up by FFI (Flora and Fauna International) in conjunction with the local villages. You will have time to drink in the tranquil ambiance of Kho Muong and socialize with the friendly locals as you spend the night in the village in traditional Thai style eco – stilt house.

Day 3: Kho Muong-Mai Chau-Back to Hanoi

According to the last day's timetable in Mai Chau, you will trek for another 5-6 hours, starting with a nice easy stretch, giving you the chance to relax and connect with your surrounding landscapes. You will take a rest for a while at Eo Ken village and then continue trekking through some steep climbs and streams. Again, this will open up the fantastic views of the valley below in front of your eyes.

You will then return to Hang village and there, you can take time to rest before getting back to the main road where the driver will be waiting for collecting you. You will be back to Mai Chau for lunch. After lunch, you will have a little more time to rest or walk around the village before departing for Hanoi. You will arrive back in Hanoi at your hotel in the late afternoon.
